A truck is much slower that a car. Allow time when merging with traffic.

Driving Speed
A truck may have different speed limits than cars in some states. Gauge your driving speed accordingly.

Changing Lanes
Trucks take more room. Be sure it's clear and use your turn signals.

Stopping
It takes longer to stop a truck. Allow plenty of stopping distance.

Parking
Always park with the engine off, the transmission in "park" or in gear. the parking brake on and the wheels turned toward the curb.

Emergency
Pull your truck onto the shoulder of the road, turn on your flashers and put out your reflectors. Then call the emergency number given to you at the time of rental.

Packing Tips

It is very dangerous to move paint, alcohol, solvents, lighther fluid greasy mops or rags. Properly dispose of these items before you move and remember to drain fuel from all lawn equipment.

One Quarter Rule
Load your truck one quarter at a time, as solid as possible from floor to ceiling. Tie down each quarrel with rope and fill open spaces with small boxes. A tight fit keeps the load from shifting.

Load largest items first. Place heavy boxes on the bottom.
Place boxes on top of each other if they are equal in strength. Smaller boxes on top.

Long items on sides
Mattresses, box springs, sofas and table tops.

Mirrors go upright.
Never lay them flat; tie them to truck walls or place them between mattresses and box springs.

Odd shaped items go along the walls.
Place odd items on top of the load. Roll up rugs and place them lengthwise in the center

Lock the truck when it;s loaded.
Check to be sure everything is sitting properly and tied down securely.
